BarCamp GNV

BarCamp is an ad-hoc "un"conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. The day is crafted largely by the community, based on topics they pick to share. It is a 1-day event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

More Information

Who should attend? Anyone who is passionate about a topic they’d like to share or anyone with a desire to learn and connect with others.

When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers – whether it’s a topic you’d like to present or you want to participate in discussion. There will be open slots for the taking on a first come, first serve basis. The talks cannot include any sales pitches.

Presentations (including a brief Q&A) will be 30 minutes. Suggested themes for these presentations include:

  • Entrepreneur – Talk about your journey, successes, and setbacks.
  • Creative – Share creative tips, like building brands and illustrating.
  • Technology – Talk about hardware and software that you love to geek out with.
  • Kitchen Sink – Discuss a topic that does not fit into one of the other tracks.

When you leave, be prepared to share what you learned with the world!

The ticket price includes lunch. If you would like to attend but the $15 fee is prohibitive, please send us an email at [email protected]

Attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one, or otherwise engage in some way with the event (such as be an active listener in the audience and ask questions!). All presentations are scheduled the day they happen. Prepare in advance, and be ready to present with and without audio/visual equipment. Come early to get a slot on the wall and remember that the talks need to be free of sales pitches. Attendees will select the demos or presentations they want to see.
