Position Description:
The Compliance & Quality Assurance will conduct manual QA of new features, bug fixes, internal tools, and partner compliance-critical content updates across all Digital Brands web properties. The Compliance Manager is expected to collaborate with the engineering and compliance teams, as well as project-specific stakeholders, to ensure our sites meet all business requirements at all times. The position’s primary performance metrics will include compliance risk mitigation (i.e., no compliance violations in a quarter) and ensuring all dev tasks meet business requirements.
A week in the life of a Compliance & QA Manager will include:
- Respond and adhere to compliance requests: Work closely with our head of compliance to ensure compliance-related requests are acted on promptly and accurately. This may include updating marketing verbiage, replacing brand imagery, or temporarily removing products from one or more of our sites.
- Establishing acceptance criteria: Ask questions (e.g., What if I leave X field blank?) to determine ideal feature functionality before documenting desired requirements in development tasks.
- Conducting manual QA of new features, bug fixes, and tools: Work closely with the in-house web development team to test and sign off on frontend (desktop/mobile, Chrome/Firefox/Safari/Edge), backend (WordPress), and internal tool features.
- Demoing new features: After accepting a new feature or bug fix, create a screencast and/or written documentation and share with appropriate user teams.
- Conducting site-wide audits and executing special projects: Special projects, such as auditing our sites for image copyright risk, removing outdated marketing language that’s no longer compliant, or verifying the accuracy of product specifications, may be assigned as needed.
The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated success in a quality control role.
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience or extreme interest in a compliance-related role
- Being held accountable to federal and/or partner compliance regulations
- Defining and communicating business requirements
- Conducting manual quality assurance testing
- Monitoring/auditing web or mobile products for compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with partners and internal teams
- Ability to quickly understand business goals and create QA steps to help achieve them
- Familiarity with Google Sheets, WordPress, and/or Screaming Frog is a plus
Base Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position.
- Starting Annual Salary: $30,000 – $45,000, depending on experience
